The jockstrap he invented featured a waistband, a supportive pouch for the genitals, and two straps that went around the buttocks to keep the pouch securely in place. This design aimed to hold the male genitals firmly, reducing movement and providing a cushioning effect against the jarring motions experienced while cycling on rough roads.
